Word of Grace Church with assistance from Emmanuel International Malawi, developed and operates a 35-hectare irrigation scheme in Kalembo in Balaka District. The scheme benefits five villages of Maninji, Gopole, Mpira, Kasaya and Bimbi targeting about 280 direct beneficiaries. The scheme is situated about a kilometre away from the Shire River and shares a boundary with Liwonde National Park. The client contracted Matex International to conduct an ESIA for the project.

This year, the client has hired Matex International to conduct field assessment and design of the conveyance system of 1.2 Km, pump house, pump and pipe sizing and prepare a Bill of Quantities (BOQ). Matex International will conduct construction supervision of the project
