Role: Geospatial Analyst

Job Summary:
The Geospatial Analyst will be responsible for generating accurate spatial data to inform environmental decision-making. Working closely with the ESIA Team/Specialists, the Officer will conduct field surveys, capture georeferenced data and produce maps and spatial analyses that support impact identification, mitigation planning and reporting. The role will also support the firm’s strategic expansion into advanced geospatial and drone-enabled services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct GPS surveys, site mapping, and ground-truthing of environmental and social features (e.g., land use, vegetation, infrastructure, settlement patterns).
- Capture and process aerial imagery and video using UAVs (drones) for mapping, monitoring, and project documentation.
- Analyze spatial data using GIS tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and produce high-quality maps for ESIA reports.
- Interpret satellite and drone imagery using remote sensing techniques to support environmental baseline assessments.
- Develop, manage, and maintain geospatial databases, ensuring data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
- Support integration of spatial data into ESIA components, including baseline studies, stakeholder mapping, and impact assessments.
- Perform quality control, spatial validation, and attribute verification.
- Manage multiple GIS projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial and Earth Observation Sciences, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in geospatial analysis.
- Strong expertise in:
- Esri ArcGIS
- QGIS
- ArcGIS Pro
- Experience with geospatial data development, mapping, and data validation.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within ESIA
