Songa Genetic Centre of Excellence

ESIA for the Development of Songa Genetic Centre of Excellence under the Rwanda Dairy Development Project โ€“ Phase II (RDDP-2), financed by the Government of Rwanda and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). Situated on a 393-hectare site in Kinazi Sector, Huye District the Songa Genetic Centre of Excellence is a flagship national investment in livestock genetics, research, and dairy innovation. It aims to strengthen Rwandaโ€™s breeding capacity, enhance productivity, and promote climate-smart agricultural practices.

The Station operates under the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB). It serves as one of Rwandaโ€™s leading hubs for livestock research, artificial insemination, and genetic improvement, supporting both national breeding programs and farmer-level capacity development.

PROGRO Fertilizer Production Plant

๐‘ท๐‘น๐‘ถ๐‘ฎ๐‘น๐‘ถ Intends to install a Lime Granulation & Fertilizer Blending Plant in Lilongwe, Kanengo industrial Area. The project will localize input production, reduce dependency on imports, enhance agricultural productivity, and strengthen national food security.

The Ujiji Rice Production and Marketing Club, a cooperative of 568 smallholder farmers, with funding support from the Agricultural Commercialisation Project (AGCOM) intends to convert 200.3 hectares of land from rainfed to irrigated agriculture using a solar-powered system.

Monkey-Bay 20 MW Solar Powered Plant by Droege Energy

Droege Energy plans to establish a 20-megawatt solar powered plant in Monkey Bay. The proposed project involves the construction and operation of a 20 MWp Monkey Bay Solar Plant (โ€œthe Projectโ€) and 2 MWh of Lithium-Ion Battery Storage. The solar technology selected for solar panels are built on photovoltaic monocrystalline
cells.
